CROWNED AS THE WINNER OF THE VOICE IN 2013 - Danielle Bradbery has ascended as the queen of country. Her voice radiates with beauty and purity, alluding to the enchanting feeling of listening to her music. Not only is Bradbery’s music raw and authentic, but her character is too. In an industry of high demands, she remains true to herself and the people that have made up who she is today. Being raised in Cypress, Texas is rooted to her with personal and musical significance. She finds inspiration from the “real”, which mirrors the transparency in her self and spirit.

Bradbery takes a personal approach to her songwriting process as it reflects the soul of experience. For instance, her single, “Never Have I Ever”, is emotionally evocative, captivating her listeners through the empowerment of vulnerability. She expresses the transformative nature of being in love. Although Bradbery’s single dives into the afflictions of heartache, her dreamlike melody entails a dominant mood of hope and optimism to meet that “special someone” one day. Remarkably, “Never Have I Ever” resembles art manifesting into reality as this single has led to her current romance. In addition, the music video to this single was filmed during quarantine. Even with cautionary measures, Bradbery’s music video executes the creative vision to “Never Have I Ever”.

Bradbery looks forward to releasing new music and content with us in the near future, and we’re excited to see what she’ll share with us next! Check out Bradbery’s music video to “Never Have I Ever” and learn more about the talented musician who has captured the heart of America.

LUNA: How has your upbringing and hometown of Cypress, Texas affected you musically and individually?

BRADBERY: It’s affected me in positive ways! I love being from Texas and Cypress is a town where football is everything so that made the feel of everything feel like a movie. My Texas roots are a key influence in my music, and whether it’s sonically or lyrically, country will always have a place in my music.

LUNA: In a phrase or sentence, tell us, who is “Danielle Bradbery”? What is something that resonates to you personally that most people don’t know about you?

BRADBERY: What you see is what you get! I’m honest and I’m never going to be or act any different than who I am. I feel like being in this industry sometimes you can get caught up in things and I know my family and friends make sure I stay grounded.

LUNA: Your angelic voice truly speaks volumes and your vocal cords are out of this world. Tell us about your experience in discovering this incredible gifting. Do you have any defining moment that revealed to you this passion?

BRADBERY: The only thing I can truly think of is just singing at the top of my lungs to powerhouse singers like Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Alicia Keys, Christina and Beyoncé! I sang to them 24/7 and would challenge myself to hit some of their biggest notes.

LUNA: Describe your relationship with music. What feelings and energy do you gain when you are fully immersed in a song?

BRADBERY: It’s a special feeling listening or writing a song that hits differently. You feel accomplished, inspired, and motivated!

LUNA: You won The Voice in 2013 at age sixteen, thus also becoming the youngest winner in The Voice history. How did you feel when your name was announced? How has that affected your career as a musician?

BRADBERY: My heart dropped when I heard my name. It didn’t feel real! It has affected me in so many ways, of course I don’t know if I would be where I’m at if it wasn’t for trying out. I’m very thankful for what I learned on the show because I think a lot of it prepared me for what was to come.

LUNA: Describe your journey in being on The Voice. Is there an in particular or sentimental moment that you would like to share with us?

BRADBERY: It was a great journey! I learned so much. I think a special moment for me was getting to know Blake Shelton. I came to the show not knowing anything and I was a baby! He knew how shy I was and it seemed like his goal was to break me out of my shell. Overall he was just a huge help with my confidence and I will forever be thankful for that friendship.

LUNA: Your last album, I Don’t Believe We’ve Met, includes seven songs that are written by you. How do you find inspiration for songwriting? What is the creative process behind it?

BRADBERY: Life!! I’m truly inspired by real moments or opticals in my life. Clearly that record was all about relationships and going through a break up and that’s exactly what was going on with me. I really couldn’t write about anything else because that event was taking up all the space in my head. I’m a very honest writer as you can tell haha! I love it.

LUNA: How has translating your emotions and experiences into music impacted you? Do you think there is a sense of vulnerability in expressing a more personal essence?

BRADBERY: It’s kind of scary but it’s made me stronger for sure. I’ve felt more confident in speaking my truth and I think vulnerability is a super cool thing!

LUNA: Tell us about your new single “Never Have I Ever.” What was the inspiration behind it?

BRADBERY: The inspiration was fully from coming out of a toxic relationship, being single, and daydreaming about that one day when I do meet that “someone.” I basically manifested how I actually met my current boyfriend! It was truly unexpected but explains exactly how I felt meeting him.

LUNA: You filmed the “Never Have I Ever” music video during quarantine, what was that experience like for you?

BRADBERY: It was a lot different! Honestly, I was so nervous! I didn’t know how it was going to come off especially when it was super important to be careful and cautious of everything. But we did it! And we did it safely! I’m super proud of us for making that happen.

LUNA: What are your worldviews on the music industry? Are there any musicians you’ve worked with or collaborated with who’ve particularly influenced you?

BRADBERY: It’s hard to pick one. Every artist I’ve gotten to tour with has inspired me! My first ever tour was Brad Paisley and from then on, I’ve gotten to be blessed to go on the road with incredible artists and I’ve learned from their shows every single night.

LUNA: Your music is enriched with so much soul and authenticity. What do you aim for listeners to gain from hearing your music? Is there a mood or energy you hope for listeners to feel?

BRADBERY: I just hope people feel connected and like they can sing or listen to my music with confidence and feel like I’m there for them in any mood. Because I get it. I get what life is like. They’re not the only ones going through things, whether that be good or bad!

LUNA: Coming from the young woman who has captured the heart of America, what advice do you have for new musicians? What do you wish you would have known at the start of your emergence into music?

BRADBERY: Of course I was a baby going into this and I was and still am evolving as a person/artist every single day. But I would say to just truly be yourself. Whatever that is, capitalize on it! Don’t let people try to tell you otherwise or convince you to be someone you’re not!

LUNA: Lastly, what are your goals in the near or late future? Are you working on any projects that you would like to share?

BRADBERY: I am working on new music and new content! I’m super excited for what’s to come and I just hope our world heals so everyone can do what we need to do!
