DARK POP IS VERY REAL - and it's very good. The rising Austrailian artist CXLOE dabbles in the fine line between alternative and electronic music, all while exulting some boss energy. Though young and just entering the playing field, CXLOE has already found tremendous success with her music and has opened for artists like Broods and Maroon 5. Her latest track "SICK" features artist gnash for an emotive track centering around love. Read on to learn more about the track and what CXLOE has in store next.

LUNA: "SICK" touches on loving someone too much & not wanting to show it - do you find yourself having a common theme when it comes to writing?

CXLOE: I think the common theme in my writing is trying to be as honest and raw as I can. When I'm writing music, I draw on all my emotions and experiences to try and capture a moment in time, both within lyrics and melody.

LUNA: Can you talk a bit more about working with gnash? What do you like about working with others?

CXLOE: Working with Gnash was very cool, it was such an organic process! "Sick" always felt like a song that was going to be a collaborative project, and when Gnash was keen to jump on the track, it just clicked. He was traveling on tour in the US at the time, so we did all our correspondence and recording via email which was odd because I really love working with people in the studio, but in the end, it worked out so well and I'm so happy with the final track.

LUNA: Since your music combines elements of both alternative and pop, who are some artists you've been looking to lately for inspiration?

CXLOE: Lately I find muses in the likes of Allie X, Charlie Puth, Ilsey and Daya!

LUNA: You're moving at a pretty fast pace which is awesome! What are some things like to do to enable time for yourself?

CXLOE: Yes, things have been very busy which I love, I'm always pushing forward! But, yes having time for yourself is also crucial. I love my family and my dog! It's so important to find time to ground down when things get crazy, just so you can remember to take a breathe and enjoy what's going on around you with the people (and animals) you love.

LUNA: Now that "SICK" is out, what's next for you?

CXLOE: There is a video coming out for "Sick" which I am really excited about - stay tuned! I am playing This That Festival in November, and Falls Festival 2019/2020 and there are a few other surprises still to come, so watch this space. :)
