DREAMY ENOUGH TO TAKE YOU AWAY BUT EDGY ENOUGH TO KEEP YOU GROUNDED - Beau provides a soundscape filled with authenticity and an edge that keeps you in their flow. The NYC based natives mix a sweet sound with a kick that has the perfect bit of edge to it. Their latest single and video “Dance With Me” follows the girls through a night of partying and fun around New York, with an energy that matches the track perfectly. Growing up surrounded by creatives thanks to their artistic parents and the energy of NYC, Beau continued to find inspiration and support through their city. Despite the uncertainty that COVID-19 and quarantine has brought, Beau continues to move forward and make the best of this time of reflection and solitude.

Take a moment to escape into the party world Beau creates with “Dance With Me” and read below to learn more about the making of the video, the direction of new music and more.

LUNA: How are you doing lately? How has quarantine been treating you?

BEAU: We are doing really well thanks for asking. Quarantine has flown by with ups and downs. Overall it’s been very humbling, and forced us to look at ourselves in the mirror. The solitude has been real.

LUNA: How do you think growing up immersed in New York has impacted you as artists?

BEAU: Growing up in New York City has had a huge impact on us as artists. New York is such a creative hub of inspiration. Our parents are painters which influenced us to be artists. We are lucky to be around so many like minded artists and creative centers. We definitely don’t take it for granted, and most likely won't live in any other city.

LUNA: You’ve both been friends since childhood and have pretty much been playing music since you were tweens. How have you seen your sound evolve since you first started making music?

BEAU: Definitely. We have gone through transitions musically and you could totally call it an evolution. Our first record is more stripped down than this next one coming. We have become more interested in layering and bringing in new sounds.

LUNA: Sonically, what direction do you see new music going in?

BEAU: Sonically we see the new music going in a more diverse and fully thought out direction, while staying true to our singer/songwriting roots.

LUNA: Musical or not, what’s been inspiring you lately?

BEAU: The undying positive energy of New York during this political upheaval.

LUNA: I love the video for “Dance With Me” - it really takes the listener into a whole world throughout the course of the video. Can you talk a bit about the making of the video?

BEAU: Thank you! Making the video was really chill because our friend Charles Billot basically organized the whole thing overnight and working with him was really fun. Our friends all came together to make this video in a super organic way. We also had an amazing stylist on board named Victoria Bartlett who brought tons of amazing clothing for us to have fun with. This video feels very true to who we are today, from shooting in the bar we frequent to playing in our own studio in our basement, it's just us...

LUNA: Why is bringing the visual side of your music to life important to you? What role do you play in it?

BEAU: It’s actually super important to us! Music fuels the mind and imagination in a way that is really beautiful, and we feel that should be caught in a visual way if possible. We are both visual learners so if we can share imagery alongside our music then it’s like having a perfect union.

LUNA: If you could offer a piece of advice for young women wanting to make their way into the music industry what would you pass along?

BEAU: We would just encourage young women to keep hold of their dreams and beliefs, and to never let anyone tell them that they can’t achieve them. You’ve got to be okay with failing and listening to a bunch of noise from people who think they know better, but ultimately your vision is your art. Anything is possible if you work hard and trust YOURSELF.

LUNA: What do you hope the rest of 2020 brings you?

BEAU: Good health, a COVID-19 vaccine for the world and more music to share!
