WITH A TRUE PASSION AND DESIRE TO UPLIFT OTHER ARTISTS - Limbo makes for the perfect guest curator for our latest On Aux playlist. If you follow the artist on Instagram you’ll often see her hyping up fellow friends and creatives, and she’s sure to put you on some good tunes you’ve never heard before.

Over the years Limbo, known simply as Jess to her friends, has collaborated with incredible creatives, both on the visual end to the production, yet she’s remained hands on with every element of her work. Now based in Northern California, Jess is ready for a new chapter and will be moving forward from Limbo. We had the pleasure of featuring Jess in one of our first issues of our magazine and are honored to close out her time as Limbo with a full interview, and as a guest curator. Check out her thoughts on some picks below and make sure to give the full playlist a listen.

Tennyson - “XYZ”

If I could listen to one song for the rest of my life it would be this one; the first time I heard it I'm pretty sure I cried because it just feels so good in my soul and is composed so perfectly I can't even really put words to why it sounds so flawless in my head. Tennyson is hands down one of my favorite duo's and I think they have some of the greatest composed music I've heard in my life, period!

Aesop Rock - “No Regrets”

I used to listen to this song on repeat in my headphones when I was in high school - always felt like a Lucy. Pretty odd, isolated, and busy creating new stuff all the time. the lyrics in this song are just ridiculous and Aesop will always be one of my top favorites for the way they convey messages in such an artistic and vivid way. They make it easy to visualize and imagine their tracks in the real world.

BATHS - “PLEA”

Ahhh, baths........I am proudly one of his biggest fans - that's for sure - and this song has made me feel so alive at so many points in my life. The album that this song is on, cerulean, is pure magic and this track, in particular, is sooooooo beautifully written. The simplicity of the lyrics make room for the emotion in the melodies and sound design of it all to convey such a powerful message of love and longing.

Regina Spektor - “Ballad Of A Politician”

I could have added every single Regina Spektor song to this playlist. I am deeply in love with her songwriting and composure and her way of being a human/artist. I decided on this song (and genius next door) because of the powerful nature of her lyrics. ballad of a politician is basically a big "f u" to the puppeteers of the world who make decisions for others just to make a buck. This song portrays what a lot of women have to metaphorically experience in some industries that are run by men. "shake it shake it baby, shake your ass out in that street...you're gonna make 'em scream someday, you're gonna make it big" ...it's what a lot of people have been told left and right in order to be successful or make a name for themselves when it's just. not. true. Regina is proof of holding dignity, self respect, and power as a woman in the music industry. so much love and respect for her.

Against All Logic - “Fantasy”

Thiiis sooong!!! I was introduced to this artist and song by someone really special in my life so of course it'll always hold a nice comfy place in my heart but it also holds that place because it's a f*cking masterpiece of a track. I don't even know what else to say about it. It makes me dance, has made me cry..it's so full of emotion without even really saying much at all. The percussion hits right to the soul. It will always be a go-to for any occasion where the aux cord is handed to me.

Kero Kero Bonito - “Well Rested”

KKB really called out some crucial stuff in this track and I applaud them for it! Speaking on Gaia and the ascension are tough subjects to bring up because most people are unaware of even the terms or what they represent for humanity and us as a civilization. This song tells a beautiful story about how no matter how "prepared" we all may be for what's to come in the future; it will never be on our time or what we perceive time to be. if you ever have a chance to see these guys live, you definitely should. 100/10
