“I just want people to feel good. I think about it a lot and want my music to evoke a message in how beauty is power. Being yourself is power within itself.” 16-year-old singer and songwriter, Flowerovlove, demonstrates what it is to be young and driven yet inhabiting a soft spot for self-love and conquering this feeling in her recent EP release, Think Flower. London born, raised in Cote d’Ivoire, she is all about sustainability, being environmentally friendly, infiltrating a devotion of memories and simply having fun. Her name constitutes a meaning that we all can’t stop thinking about, she shares, “Flower symbolizes women giving life which is the greatest pain and I want that purity, strength and nurturing to amplify Flowerovlove. Leaving Earth how we found it in its natural elements, Love is love which is the key message within every song. Love for family and the people! Being in love with the feeling of love.”

Behind her collaborations, Flowerovlove discusses behind the scenes of her production. “My brother makes the beats, just in his room tapping away while I’m behind him. As a multi-instrumentalist, he plays just about anything. He asked me to sing something and when I did, I didn’t know what it meant or how it felt. Later when the song was done, I realized this song is about me,” Flowerovlove says. “Loving myself and appreciating that I always have myself when undone.”

Listening to “Think Flower” we gain a sense of adolescence, emphasizing a mix of sounds that is both exhilarating and nostalgic and “super flowery”. While “Think Flower” makes us want to dance, we can’t help but to sink behind the ambiance when listening to tracks such as ‘Well Aware” or “Dancing In The Rain”. “We recently worked with Nina, who’s amazing. She liked my brother's sounds and mixed it for us. Working with women is everything.”

“Flower represents women,” Flowerovlove continues. “My music team will coincide with women and women only. Growing—more or so blossoming—as people do because flowers start off as seeds. They sprout and develop into what they’re supposed to become. It’s a beautiful thing really. Women hold life by producing these beautiful humans which is similar to how flowers are born.” Envisioning a world of color and beauty in luminous light is exactly what Flowerovlove wants to evoke when thinking about her audience and what they want. Close to summer, this EP emanates a cheerful yet “butterflies in my tummy” feeling that we can’t resist but to let it run its course throughout our body. Instead of incorporating deepness,  Flowerovlove dedicates her attention to the positive transactions in music; connecting to the overall perspective that music is made to be listened to and feel the etherealness that you cannot miss.

While every music artist has a story of when the “spark” occurred, Flowerovlove goes into how she’s changed as an artist since the beginning of her music career. “Thinking what appeals to my listeners, I try to make music that will make them happy. What I like to make is also what people listen to. I want people to live in the music so when they’re listening, they’re not where they are right now. They’re somewhere else, they’re in a different universe. They’re in the song.”

Looking forward, Flowerovlove’s passion for music will continue to endure as the possibilities are limitless. “I want to obtain a bigger audience beyond me and focus on fashion. While I grow as an artist it is important to give them a fresh take on who I am and my capabilities. I can’t say much about what I have upcoming but if I have to say, I just want to live and really put in the work in my next projects. Not only that but to dance with my listeners as they feel the music as I do.”
