Review: Milky Chance and Young the Giant Electrify Austin's Germania Insurance Center

 
 
 

MUSIC ENTHUSIASTS IN AUSTIN were treated to an unforgettable experience as German folk-pop duo Milky Chance and indie-rock sensation Young the Giant graced the stage at the Germania Insurance Center. The air was electric with anticipation as fans eagerly awaited an evening of feel good indie music. 

Milky Chance, known for their unique blend of folk, electronic, and pop elements, kicked off the night with an entrancing set that immediately captivated the audience. Clemens Rehbein's soothing vocals and Philipp Dausch's skillful guitar work combined flawlessly, setting the tone for an evening of musical exploration. As their set went on, you could feel the crowd to begin to let loose and enter their weekend mode. 

The duo showcased their versatility, seamlessly transitioning between tracks from their debut album Sadnecessary to newer, more experimental pieces from "Blossom" and "Mind the Moon." Standout performances included their hit “Stolen Dance," and the introspective "Cocoon”. 

Throughout the concert, the stage lighting and visuals complemented the music perfectly, enhancing the overall experience. The energy in the venue was infectious, as the bands fed off the crowd's enthusiasm, resulting in an even more powerful and immersive performance.

As their set drew to a close, the audience found themselves ready for headliners Young The Giant yet not ready to say goodbye to Milky Chance just yet. Both artists delivered an outstanding concert that made for a perfect summer evening.
