INJECTING SOME SULTRINESS FOR THE TOP OF 2023 — Masego returns with the music video for his latest single, “You Never Visit Me.” Shot in Brazil by director Madison Soares, the visual’s lush aesthetic matches the track’s tranquil and seductive vibe. Masego channels his effortless swagger in the backdrop of a tropical environment, taking in the sights of cobblestone streets while riding motorcycles and having parties and feasts with friends. Within the song and video’s breeziness, he laments over the absence of a distant lover at home while filling the void with his newfound success.

Produced by Wu10, Todd Prichard, and Louie Lastic, the single’s mid-tempo groove gives fans more of Masego’s signature rap, R&B sound with a splash of jazz influence. “You Never Visit Me” marks his return with a bang, garnering over 3 million global streams since its release last month. ClashMusic praises the track as “a helter-skelter sonic brew… a smooth roller coaster  that adds some grit to Masego’s intoxicating vocals,” and The Source remarks, “The single reflects how love can fall to the side while someone is chasing their dreams.”

Recently, Masego brought the track to life on stage with a performance also set in Brazil. In his re-emergence with “You Never Visit Me,” he picks up where he left off — exploding onto the R&B scene with his 2018 debut album, Lady Lady — containing his platinum-certified hit “Tadow” — the multi-instrumentalist embarked on his first headlining tour, spreading his unique flavor across the globe. He followed it up in 2021 with Studying Abroad: Extended Stay, the deluxe edition of his EP.

Earning a Grammy nomination for Best Progressive R&B Album for the project and hitting the mark with the gold-certified banger “Mystery Lady” with Don Toliver, Masego makes his mark as one of R&B’s new pillars.

In March, Masego will hit the road with the You Never Visit Me Tour, starting with a series of shows on the West Coast. The North American–based tour includes two shows at New York City’s Terminal 5 (April 1–2). For more details and tickets, visit https://www.masegomusic.com/
