ON THE FIRST BRISK NIGHT OF FALL IN AUSTIN, bundled-up music lovers gathered at the Moody Amphitheater for a night that promised to bring nothing but good energy and grooves—and Kaytranada certainly delivered. The outdoor venue, nestled in the heart of downtown, provided the perfect backdrop for a night of infectious beats, visual spectacles, and a true musical journey while the super moon beamed down.

The night kicked off with opening performances from Lou Phelps, Kaytranada’s younger brother, and Channel Tres. Both openers set the tone for the evening with high-energy sets, making it impossible for anyone in the crowd to stay still. Channel Tres, in particular, brought an extra layer of performance with his backup dancers, who captivated the audience with their perfectly synchronized moves, adding depth to an already impressive show.

When Kaytranada finally took the stage, the energy surged even higher. From the first beat, he had the crowd dancing non-stop, delivering a masterful set that lasted nearly an hour and a half. It was impossible not to groove as the Montreal-born producer moved through his expansive catalog of hits. Seamlessly blending old favorites from his iconic albums 99.99 and BUBBA, alongside tracks like “4eva” from his Kaytraminé collaboration with Aminé and newer tracks like “Witches” from his latest release TIMELESS, Kaytranada treated fans to a full spectrum of his musical evolution. He even took a moment during the set to thank the crowd for being part of his journey, walking them through the milestones of his discography.

But what makes Kaytranada’s shows unique is his ability to go beyond just DJing—he’s a full-blown performer and entertainer. Dancing behind the booth with every beat, his energy was contagious, keeping the crowd moving through every minute of the set. The visuals were equally impressive, with stunning landscapes, striking light displays, and even moments of pyro adding layers to the immersive experience.

Kaytranada’s ability to hype up the audience and engage with them throughout the night only solidified his reputation as one of the best performers in the electronic scene. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to his music, one thing is clear: a Kaytranada show is an unforgettable experience, and last night was no exception. As the night came to a close, it was hard to tell what warmed the crowd more—the beats or the undeniable connection between Kaytranada and his audience.
