“WE MAKE MUSIC IN OUR ROOMS FOR YOU TO LISTEN TO IN YOURS” — is the motto of LA-based sibling duo Savannah and Brandon Hudson, also known as Between Friends. The duo has amassed over two million monthly listeners on Spotify and rose to immense popularity with their 2018 EP we just need some time together, which featured songs like “affection” and “iloveyou.” Born in Miami and growing up in Laurel Canyon, the siblings spent much of their time making music together — they credit these formative years with much of their growth as artists and creatives.

Existing in the world of bedroom and indie pop, the duo's music is intimate, catchy, and oddly exact in describing situations and their following emotions. Intoxicating and addictive, Between Friends is a duo that has been on everyone’s radar as we await the next taste of what the band has to offer. Luckily, it looks like the wait is almost over.

Their latest song, “orange juice,” out today, is their most recent teaser for their upcoming EP. Like their last single, “more,” “orange juice” remains catchy and sweet, effortlessly blending the duo's layered bedroom voices. But unlike their previous single, “orange juice” has melodies that seem otherworldly in both the musical arrangement and vocals courtesy of Savannah Hudson’s effervescent upper range. Bouncing between rap-like lines and dream-like tones, “orange juice” keeps you on your toes but your head in the clouds.

Lyrically following similar themes to their past music, “orange juice” hints at love, different relationships, and time. Providing stories and emotions, the duo is not shy about sharing. Just as “more” touches on relationships and wanting more of someone — whether emotionally or physically — the song’s sensual sound has an accompanying self-produced video. Directed and shot by Kevin Clarke, the video features the siblings in empty rooms, in the middle of the streets at night, on green backdrops, and a variety of other scenes. But what stands out most is the duo’s fashion sense: neon, texture, and glam makeup are some things that come to mind when it comes to the clothes Between Friends wears in the video. Fashion is yet another way the duo expresses themselves both on and off camera, and they do it particularly well.

Finding inspiration in fashion, film, production, and music, Between Friends won’t stop creating anytime soon. With much more to share and give their community, the duo couldn’t be more excited to release more music and their upcoming EP.
