TRENTON: I guess the biggest evolution for me was understanding that what I like making and what I feel represents me greatly differs to the music I listen to in everyday life. This allowed me to fully lean into the darker, bigger sounds I’m attracted to, as opposed to the calmer, breezier feel I look for in my personal life.
LUNA: "Mind of Mine" is part of a larger storyline that started with your previous singles. How does this track contribute to the overarching narrative you're crafting, and what can listeners expect to discover in your upcoming project?
TRENTON: I view my career in chapters and "Mind of Mine" wraps up the first act, where the desire was to touch on certain feels and moods that’ll grow and be further developed in future projects. "Mind Of Mine" is part of a story line that sets the table for a more complete body of work that’ll allow me to reveal more of who I am, establish my presence, and usher me into the next chapter. My upcoming projects will include slightly more mature and further developed sounds and visuals that’ll better encapsulate the conceptual world I’m trying to create.
LUNA: What message or emotions do you hope your listeners will take away from "Mind of Mine"? How do you see this single contributing to the larger conversation you're aiming to create through your work?
TRENTON: My writing is often somewhat vague and non-specific. I do this to encourage the listeners to apply themselves into the stories I’m telling through their own personal experiences. My focus is often to just make music and create moods that encapsulate the feelings I’m looking to convey rather than push a diary entry of sorts with every detail included, leaving little room for imagination.
LUNA: What intentions do you have for the upcoming months?
TRENTON: I feel like I'd like to wrap up my first year of releasing music with one more single, but other than that, I’m just focused on getting everything ready for next year and continuing to develop and improve in every aspect.
