EMERGING SINGER-SONGWRITER — Alesandra Pollack, hailing from Gladwyne, PA, is a blossoming artist weaving tales of her own into a unique genre she fondly calls “sensitive pop.” Currently a sophomore at New York University studying contemporary voice, Pollack’s musical journey took a significant turn in 2021 with the evolution of her single "Deep End."

Originally conceived as a piano ballad in late 2020, producer Walk About saw growth potential. Midway through 2021, they collaborated to infuse the track with additional production elements, bringing it to life. Mastered by Glenn Barrett at Morning Star Studios in Norristown, PA, "Deep End" became a fully realized piece, marking a milestone in Pollack’s career.

Reflecting on the transformation of her music, Pollack notes a shift toward more intricate and introspective lyricism. Delving deeper into the art of songwriting, she has transitioned from simple narratives to creating captivating stories. It's apparent also in the musical structure, as Pollack explores diverse tempos like 6/8, steering away from the traditional 4/4 ballads.

Life itself serves as the singer-songwriter's muse, as she draws inspiration from its highs and lows. Her musical influences include powerhouse vocalists such as Adele, admired for her stunning voice and diverse musical styles, and Billie Eilish, whose innovative production styles have left an indelible mark on Pollack’s sound.

"Deep End" stands as the artist’s debut single, marking the beginning of her musical journey. With more singles on the horizon, listeners can expect a continued exploration of Pollack’s evolving style.

Given her background singing various genres, Pollack expresses a desire to “experiment further, including a foray into rock.”

"Deep End" draws from a poignant personal experience when Pollack was just 16. In the song, she reflects on a night of rebellion, caught in a car with a boy disapproved of by her mother. The emotional turmoil of that night became the essence of the song, evolving from a basic piano ballad to a fully produced track under the guidance of Walk About.

The producer and recording artist, based in LA, is the creative force behind Pollack’s tracks. His expertise brings her music to its full potential musically.

Pollack selects producers based on their previous work and envisions whether her music could find a home in their artistic landscape. While she navigates the world of academia, Pollack hopes to transition into being a full-time musician, making her music her primary occupation.

As for a dream collaboration, Pollack shares that she’d love to work with Olivia Rodrigo, a testament to her admiration for Rodrigo's musical prowess.

In the coming year, Pollack envisions building a dedicated fanbase and gracing stages across the US, sharing her heartfelt and evolving "sensitive pop" sound.
