AFTER UNVEILING THEIR ENCAPSULATING AURAS TO THE DANCE FLOOR Benjamin David of Mild Minds and Victor Pakpour of Ruby Haunt reunite once again under their collaborative project, LUV HRTS. Their latest single, "CAN WE DO BETTER?" is the second release on the duo’s newly minted label, MOODS INTL.

"CAN WE DO BETTER?" contains a seamlessly mesmerizing blend of indie and electronic music, characterized by its radiant melodies and shimmering textures. The track features a smooth, danceable beat that perfectly showcases the unique yet compatible individuality of the pair. LUV HRTS shines and stands out from the crowd with their ability to create an ethereal atmosphere through waves of emotional depth.

"CAN WE DO BETTER?" exemplifies the deep creative synergy between the two artists. The release is the perfect follow up to their debut single "U REALLY HURT ME," which premiered on their label MOODS INTL. The duo’s creative chemistry first materialized with the track "Dopamine" on Mild Minds' debut album. The LUV HRTS project beautifully captures their shared passion for bringing rawness and emotion to dance music. We spoke with LUV HRTS to dig further into “CAN WE DO BETTER?”. Keep reading to learn more!

LUNA: Can you tell us a bit about the inspiration behind “CAN WE DO BETTER?”

LUV HRTS: This was actually the first song we made for the project. The simple lyric paired with an emotive atmosphere evoked something in us, and then the song came together naturally. Felt like that moment was the foundation for LUV HRTS.

LUNA: How would you describe the vibe of the single and how does it differ from the feel of your first release?

LUV HRTS: We feel like it lives in the LUV HRTS world, but has some different tonal elements than our first release. We are having a lot of fun making these songs, and we view it as an ongoing art project with each song / release.

LUNA: What was your favorite part of the making of the track?

LUV HRTS: It was really fun building into the drop and making the drop as well.

LUNA: What’s something you’re looking forward to as LUV HRTS continues to grow and evolve?

LUV HRTS: It would be amazing to do some touring and DJ sets around the world, or Europe for the summer. We find a lot of our inspiration from moments in life so that would give us a lot I’m sure.

LUNA: Can you tell us about your label MOODS INTL.?

LUV HRTS: We created this label to take a more direct route with releases. Being able to set our own release schedule and not have to wait 12-15 months to receive income from labels is a lot more transparent. We have our systems around each release that we're pretty confident in, so our goal is to provide a home for friends' music too.

LUNA: Are there any exciting shows or projects for the second half of 2024?

LUV HRTS: We have a few more singles coming out which will end as an EP. No shows as of yet, but hopefully we can start to line things up.

LUNA: What’s one piece of advice you’d like to tell artists who are just starting out in this industry?

LUV HRTS: Enjoy all the small victories in your music journey.

LUNA: What inspired the name LUV HRTS?

LUV HRTS: That name was actually in our first batch of name ideas but we weren't sure about it so we tried coming up with a bunch more. There was something about it that felt right though.
