A TALENTED MULTI-HYPHENATE WITH A KNACK FOR CREATING MUSIC CHANGING LIVES - Producer, DJ, and activist LP Giobbi is on the rise. LP Giobbi continuously pushes boundaries in music as she not only has her own imprint label, YES YES YES, but also runs FEMME HOUSE – a non-profit which offers scholarships, online courses, and production workshops to thousands of female, LGBTQ+, and BIOPC individuals in the industry. A passionate artist with a clear mission, LP Giobbi’s hard work has led her to work with major artists including Pete Tong, Fatboy Slim, Diplo, and more. With an impressive 150 million streams and an official Taylor Swift remix also under her belt, LP Giobbi is one to watch in 2024.

Leaving 2023 with nothing short of a high note, LP Giobbi’s most recent single, “Waiting”, is a euphoric and pleasantly percussive house groove. Working together with UK producer Redfield and multi-talented artist DJ Rae, “Waiting” delivers a feel-good vibe reflective of LP Giobbi’s undeniable charisma.

Luna had the honor of speaking with LP Giobbi about the new single, upcoming projects, and more. Read the interview below.

LUNA: Your latest single “Waiting” is a collaboration with the talented Redfield and DJ Rae. What was it like working together and were there any lessons you learned from them?

LP GIOBBI: Redfield knows how to make a track HIT focusing on the toms over the kick which I dig. And Rae is so tuned in to who she is and what is truly important in life that writing just flows out of her.

LUNA: “Waiting” radiates such a euphoric, feel good energy. Can you tell us about the creative process for the song and the inspiration behind it?

LP GIOBBI: DJ Redfield and I started this track in London at the Defected studios and we’re looking for something to give us a lift on the song. I was working on a separate tune with DJ Rae and remembered these awesome vocals she recorded in an earlier session so we threw them in and sure enough they had us out of our seats dancing.

LUNA: With the release of your debut album, a remix for Taylor Swift, and over 150 million streams, you’ve seen tremendous success since the start of your career. Has this growth affected or altered any of your goals as an artist?

LP GIOBBI: My goals are now more about balance, space, time with loved ones… because I want to make art with more space and experimentation.

LUNA: Are there any exciting projects fans can expect to look out for in 2024?

LP GIOBBI: I’ll be releasing more music on my label Yes Yes Yes which is an imprint on defected and I’ll be releasing music from some of my favorite artists. I am also working on my second album which has some of my favorite collaborations yet.

LUNA: Your nonprofit FEMME HOUSE creates opportunities for minority creatives in music. As a prominent female DJ in the industry with a clear passion and mission, do you have any advice for women who want to make their way into the scene?

LP GIOBBI: The most important attribute you can have is belief in yourself. And that is something you can practice and reinforce into the grooves in your brain.
