THE HANGOUT MUSIC FESTIVAL 2024 was an outstanding success, attracting over 40,000 attendees to the picturesque beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama.The festival enhanced its distinct seaside charm with a unique blend of art installations, brand pop-ups, community activities, and performances that literally took place in the sand. Each day, Hangout Fest featured a wide range of amazing performances that left attendees completely enthralled and craving more. Numerous dedicated fans were willing to dedicate their entire day to securing a front-row seat for their favorite artist's performance, even if it meant staying at the same stage for over 9 hours. Some enthusiasts even camped at the festival gates to ensure they were among the first to enter and secure a spot at the barricade. I shared this excitement as I eagerly anticipated the start of Hangout Fest!
Festival attendees were treated to a variety of elite performers who gave performances they won't soon forget, even in the blazing heat. With the intense lighting, sharp drumline, thick fog, brilliant colors, and eye-popping lasers that ODESZA added to their performance, the atmosphere transformed into a thrilling show that was incredibly captivating to witness. Sets by Dom Dolla, Sexyy Red, and The Chainsmokers riled the audience by releasing jets of fire while performing, adding to the extra hot theme of the weekend. Renee Rapp's high-energy set was electrified by her powerful vocals and infectious personality, captivating the audience and earning her numerous new fans that day. As Zach Bryan's sweet song lyrics filled the air on the last day and final set of the festival, they served as a heartwarming embrace for the crowd, allowing everyone to hold their loved ones close and reflect on the cherished memories of the weekend they had shared, leaving them deeply grateful for the enduring experience.
Lana Del Rey's highly anticipated set was a true spectacle, as she made a grand entrance reminiscent of her Coachella performance, riding in on the back of a line of golf carts escorting her to the stage. She performed a variety of songs from Summertime Sadness to Without You and Born to Die. Her haunting vocals were complemented by surprise guest appearances, including Nessa Barrett and Jelly Rolls, who joined her for duets. Closing out the evening with Sweet Home Alabama was the perfect ending to the warm evening on gulf shores.. Lana even made a surprise appearance as a guest during Megan Moroney's performance, delighting the crowd with an unexpected collaboration that added an extra layer of magic to the festival experience.
The eagerly awaited Taylor Party on the Monster Stage proved to be a standout moment of the festival, drawing ecstatic fans from to partake in a dance party celebrating Taylor Swift's musical eras. The Taylor Party set exuded an electrifying atmosphere, making it the ultimate destination for energetic vibes and irresistible dance moves.
Among the festival's lineup were rising stars Dasha and Knox, who made their festival debut at Hangout 2024. In an interview we had, the two separately revealed their pre-show ritual, which humorously involved indulging in beef sticks as per their rider request. Despite their newfound success this year, Dasha and Knox expressed their excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to perform at such a widely known event.
