LUNA: How would you describe your style and sound to those who may not be familiar with Blake Rave yet?

BLAKE: I think I have a very identifiable sound, but my style sways a bit. I'd say I fit into the Americana/Indie Rock/Pop spectrum.
LUNA: Can you tell us about the inspiration for your newest track?

BLAKE: This song is about looking back at past relationships... Reminiscing about good times and the bittersweet taste of change.

LUNA: Is there a lyric from “High as the Clouds” that resonates most with you? If so, why?

BLAKE: "Remember when we were 18, living like the world was never gonna end?" I definitely thought I was invincible when I was younger. My choices were uninhibited by  consequence and were purely based in the moment.

LUNA: What’s a message you’d like listeners to take away from hearing the track?

BLAKE: I hope this song leaves listeners with an overall good feeling... Hopefully it will take them back and make them think of someone they haven't seen or spoken to in ages.

LUNA: What was your favorite part about creating the song?

BLAKE: I absolutely loved recording this song in the studio! We did some really fun things with the instrumentation and the backing vocals... But my favourite part was writing the outro bit in the studio. I think that part added so much to the recording and to the song itself.

LUNA: Which artists would you say are your biggest inspirations and why?

BLAKE: My biggest inspiration was Jewel. She emerged at the height of grunge, but she was completely opposite. I've always been one to go against the grain, and I've never quite felt like I fit in. I love how Jewel writes and performs her own music, and quite frequently, she does it solo/acoustic. In contrast to the vulnerability, there's this sense of power that comes along with bearing your heart and soul to an audience  in such a stripped down fashion.

LUNA: How would you say this song has shown your growth as an artist since your first release?

BLAKE: This song pays homage to my roots as a performer, opening up with a simple acoustic guitar. It builds up into a pretty groovy tune. There are a lot more "moving parts" and dynamics compared to my first release, Dreams & Fears.

LUNA: Any final words for our readers?

BLAKE: Follow your dreams! There is nothing silly about wanting something more for your life. If you are truly passionate about something, I believe you will eventually achieve success in that area. Stick with it!
