Preview: What To Expect at Outside Lands 2024
SAN FRANCISCO’S PREMIER MUSIC FESTIVAL OUTSIDE LANDS RETURNS to Golden Gate Park from August 9 to August 11, 2024. This year's festival promises a vibrant blend of music, food, art, and culture, attracting visitors from across the globe.
The 2024 lineup features an impressive array of artists across various genres, ensuring there's something for everyone. Headliners include, The Killers on Friday, Sabrina Carpenter on Saturday and Sturgill Simpson on Sunday.
Other notable acts include Post Malone performing a special country set, The Postal Service, Grace Jones, KAYTRANADA, JUNGLE, Renee Rapp, Young The Giant, and more.
This year will see a handful of new features, including a City Hall! This year, festival-goers can get married or renew their vows at City Hall, located in McLaren Pass. This new addition commemorates the 20th anniversary of the Winter of Love, which marked the first same-sex marriage ceremonies in the U.S. at San Francisco’s City Hall. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Lambda Legal, supporting LGBTQ+ civil rights.
The dedicated stage for house and techno, SOMA, returns in a new open-air format in Marx Meadow. This immersive experience, created in collaboration with Studio RRD and featuring interactive visuals by VOLTA, will allow fans to dance the day and night away with an in-the-round stage design.
Attendees will also get new stage Casa Bacardi in Lindley Meadow with live DJs, cocktails, salsa lessons, and more. Enjoy Reggaetón, Latin, and Dance music with artists like B-Side Brujas, Chulita Vinyl Club, and Gasolina Reggaetón Party from a two-story structure that enhances the party atmosphere.
Another new addition to the festival this year will be The Mission. Located in Hellman Hollow, The Mission focuses on voting this year. Attendees can interact with local and national organizations to learn how to make a positive impact in the Bay Area and beyond.
Outside Lands is renowned not only for its music but also for its culinary delights. This year, the festival will feature the Taste of the Bay Area, which showcases the best local food vendors, from gourmet dishes to street food.
A curated selection of the finest wines from California's top vineyards will be available at Wine Lands, while a variety of craft beers from local breweries can be found at Beer Lands. Grass Lands returns, which is the cannabis-centric area that offers a relaxed atmosphere and educational experiences.
In addition to music and food, the festival will be adorned with immersive art installations and interactive experiences like Eco Lands, The Barbary and Outsider Art.
For those who want to keep the party going, the Night Shows series will host after-hours performances at various venues throughout San Francisco. Artists like Sturgill Simpson, FLETCHER, STRFKR and more will perform in more intimate settings, giving fans a unique experience.
