OUR “ON AUX” PLAYLIST JUST GOT A REFRESH THANKS TO OUR FRIENDS INNER WAVE - highlighting their diverse taste, it’s no wonder Inner Wave has such a unique sound. Featuring on the cover of our 11th Issue back in 2020, Inner Wave are back on our heavy rotation playlists thanks to their new single “Mystery”. Following up their 2020 EP Wyd and singles of 2021 including “Take 3”, and “June”, the new track gives us the very best of the signature Inner Wave sound while reflecting their growth over the years. Focusing on recording and working on their craft the past year like many artists, Inner Wave are ready to hit the Fall running with a new album Apoptosis and have already locked in two shows in Los Angeles at the end of the year at the El Rey Theatre.

Their upcoming album Apoptosis will be out September 30th, so in the meantime dive into “Mystery” and check out their picks for our “On Aux” playlist below.

Stevie Wonder- "Love’s In Need of Love Today"

This song makes me feel very warm and fuzzy inside. I can listen to these chord progressions all day. I love the character Stevie takes on in this song, it’s like he is Love’s messenger; breaking the news to the everyone. This song serves me as a reminder for my own love and how it needs to be paid attention to and nurtured. - Jean

Chet Baker - "Everything Happens To Me"

discovered this song while watching a movie, ‘A Rainy Day in New York’ starring Timothee Chalamet. It was raining in the movie, just like it was at home. It made me feel a very specific nostalgia for winter outfits. The recording has a very cozy feeling. It transports you to a black and white scene of New York City. - Jean

Manchild - "Especially For You"

The lead synth in this song is so mesmerizing. It sounds like a flute that’s melting. We tried to get similar sounds on Apoptosis. - Pablo

Jessica Pratt - "Game That I Play"

This song came to my attention during quarantine and the way the acoustic guitar sounds plus her voice made me think of 1970’s folk music. It felt timeless something we’ve always tried to achieve with our music. - Pablo

Labi Siffre - "Cannock Chase"

I love the melody and guitar picking in this song so much. It sounds like you're getting in your car to run away from something but at the same time come to terms with it. Labi Siffre’s music has been a big inspiration to us. - Pablo
