Now Listening: This Week's Tracks

Robbing Millions - “Back”

Robbing Millions, the new artist from the MGMT independent label (yes, the masterminds behind the hit “Kids”), brings forth a new LP, Holidays Inside, and a new track, “Back”. While his humorous lyricism unfolds a more laid-back tempo than his fellow label mates, Millions still brings a bouncy hyperpop effect that makes anyone want to dance in the middle of the street no matter what time it is. MGMT's Andrew VanWyngarden says about the track: “Lucien has achieved that rare balance of experimentation, technical proficiency, and extreme catchiness that makes for a truly exciting and surprising pop music listening experience.” You can now tune into “Back” or Holidays Inside on all streaming platforms.

Mae Powell - “Yellow Flower”

A majestically beautiful song that is supported by gorgeous vivid visuals; that's what singer songwriter Mae Powell presents to her audience with her track “Yellow Flower ''. With her upcoming album, ‘Both Ways Brighter’ set to be released August 20th, Powell is giving a glimpse into her groovy, sparkling, optimistic mind. The song “Yellow Flower” showcases stunning instrumentation and divine, honey-like vocals that will inevitably leave the listener in a trance. The lyrics themselve share a positive and bright message, and she's not afraid to nudge important topics like spreading love amongst the cruel world. The transparency in her lyrics and magical music making definitely blend together to create a special feeling when listening to “Yellow Flower”.

Kid Hastings - “Come Back Sweet”

Kid Hastings has captured the hearts of many through his sweet and fun sound. This song is both energetic in a mellow way and sweet in a completely light way. Totally made to lighten up a day or send to someone special.

Winston Surshirt - “All Of The Little Things”

This new single from Winston Surshirt has ‘90s hip-hop written all over it. With a feature from Californian rapper Ramirez, the single named “All of the Little Things” perfectly blends the sounds of both musicians. Raised in San Fransisco, Rameriez used the West Coast to influence his style and openly flow in step with the sincerity of Winston’s soothing vocals. Proclaiming “invincibiltiy in the throes of love,” Winston’s warm lyrics and admission of feelings go hand in hand with the ‘90s backbeat.

Released on July 22, “All the Little things” has already racked up over 115,000 streams in just four short days for the musicians and is the perfect song for a late summer night.
