By Saachi Gupta & Astrid Ortega
The Hails - “Denial”
The Hails have returned to make you remember how it feels to dance. The band has a name that invokes legend and a sound that invokes movement. With “Denial”, the band uses their synth-tinged and bass-boosted melodies to create an unforgettable track to dance the night away with. Their sound invokes the honesty of Radiohead, mixed with the effortless catchiness of The Beatles, and the melody of Frank Ocean, though the band has released tracks in all genres, from R&B to indie rock. On the song, The Hails say “Denial nods at a myriad of musical styles past and present; We often brandish denial as an escape - be it in a response to a life-altering moment or a long-held, deep-seated burden, often the easiest way out is to deny.”
Yukon Blonde - “Get Precious”
Canada-based indie-pop band Yukon Blonde's fiery new single “Get Precious” is an instantly transportive tune– one that takes you back to the 80's with its catchy beats and soft vocals.
With “Get Precious”, Yukon Blonde once again proves that they are not afraid to take risks, by taking full control of all aspects of their sound. The track is the first of many releases from 2020, and focuses on building a healthy relationship with yourself and being okay with spending time alone to find happiness.
With a hooking retro-pop production that leans into a psychedelic realm, Yukon Blonde's “Get Precious” expands their sound and explores new territory with ease and expertise.
Francis Moon - “Eyes On You”

“It feels like the more you get through life, you start to gain a new perspective on things. Only then can you truly learn and make things better for yourself; things that seemed quite impossible in the past but are now finally within reach,” explains Francis Moon, who wrote as well as produced and played every instrument on the song.
