Eyedress - “SPAGHETTI”

LA-based Filipino singer-songwriter, rapper, and record producer Eyedress releases new single “SPAGHETTI”, featuring Canadian musician HOMESHAKE. It comes alongside the announcement of his upcoming album FULL TIME LOVER. Eyedress continues to rise in the alternative/Indie scene following massive acclaim and the gold and platinum certifications of 2020’s “Romantic Lover” and “Jealous”. FULL TIME LOVER is sure to impress with 28 tunes on the track list featuring genre-bending collaborations with a host of new and old friends including Chad Hugo, The Drums, Gonjasufi, HOMESHAKE, Provoker, Vex Ruffin, Paul Cherry, Nosaj Thing, Chuck Strangers & Na-Kel Smith. “This is the album where I’m putting all the genres together, and I usually keep them separate,” he explains. “I’ll drop a whole rap album, or I’ll drop a whole guitar album. But I thought, maybe everyone already knows me as this person who does all of these things. So why don’t I just put it all on the same album?” SPAGHETTI is a standout tune evoking a romantic and rhythmic feeling of floating through a 3AM Summer jam session. A combination of sensual and melodic guitar riffs and intoxicating vocals flow together through this mesmerizing late-night melody. Eyedress performed at Coachella this April. His 2021 single “Something About You” was certified RIAA gold last month as he continues to amass recognitions. FULL TIME LOVER is due this August and is not one to miss.

honeywhip - “it’s all in ur head man”

honeywhip introduces their new indie single “it’s all in ur head man” as a warm and genuine jam for the summer season. The soft and delicate vocals show and grace and maturity as honeywhip makes a name for themselves. A gentle tune with blues and folk inspired sounds, the song has equally affectionate lyrics. “The two of us, along with everyone else we know seem to be struggling with anxiety, at least on some level. even those of us who are doing great things, we still often feel like we're failing or not doing enough. this is a song about rising above that stress. recognizing that so much of that negativity- the insufficiency and imposter syndrome, is just in our heads. and beyond that, taking a second to enjoy that maybe we're on the right path and that there is a lot of goodness here to appreciate.” honeywhip is one to keep an eye on for future musical endeavors.

Megan Trainer - “Bad For Me,” featuring Teddy Swims

Grammy award-winning star Megan Trainer is back with her fourth full-length album, Takin’ It Back, arriving October 21. When discussing the new album Megan said, “I tried to do the doo-wop feel I had at the beginning of my career, but the 2022 version of it. This is from the new Meghan who is a wife and mom with a baby. This is from me right now.” In her latest single, “Bad for Me,” Trainer gives a glimpse of what she has in store for her fans. By featuring the soulful vocals of Teddy Swims and integrating doo-wop with classic harmonies, “Bad for Me” takes the listener on a blissful melodic journey. The reflective lyrics tell the story of self-growth and standing up for one's self, showcasing Trainer's willingness to be vulnerable with her fans.

roman around - “rhythm”

“Rhythm” is the latest single from Fresno, California-based roman around. Recorded entirely out of their home studio, “Rhythm” takes listeners on a sonic whirlwind. Already an accomplished drummer, multi-instrumentalist, and teacher, Roman Rivera proves the power of precision production with their recent release. Inspired by the tragic loss of a family pet, “Rhythm” lyrically encapsulates a universal story of grief and heartbreak, highlighted by Rivera’s yearning vocals. The accompanying music video, directed by Nicholas Crespin, depicts the joy of human and animal relationships, emphasizing the gravity of losing a pet. After spending years touring the country as a drummer for various bands, Rivera garnered notable instrumental prowess. However, what makes their music, and this single, in particular, stand out is its texture — the raw intensity of the percussion, the hypnotic sonics, and the swirling guitar all make for a cathartic listening experience that leaves us wanting more.

Jack Romero - “Daisies” (ft. Liz Becker)

Although June is a time of celebration and pride, it’s important to express the societal pressures that come with being part of the LGBTQ+ community. Jack Romero takes these feelings and expertly weaves them into his newest single “Daisies” feat. Liz Becker. The track is a queer take on Romeo and Juliet, underlining the damaging effects of societal pressure and hate placed on the queer community. Romero had no expectations going into the songwriting process, he just knew that he needed “the music to carry the same emotional weight as the lyrics.” And Romero succeeded in doing just that, creating a somber indie song that not only evokes emotions but validates them. The track starts out with a lone guitar, reminiscent of a Lucy Dacus track, before building into a fully produced rock song. Romero's vocals have the timbre of a soft embrace guiding the listener through the ebbs and flows of the song. Creating something of a “coffin-core” vibe, the accompanying music video includes sheet ghosts and haunting scenes. “Daisies” is a track that is here to let you feel and maybe keep on in the background of your next cry sesh.

James Wyatt Crosby - “Is There A Reason?”

Immediately drawn in by a tantalizing guitar melody, James Wyatt Crosby is here with his second single from his Wavy Time Records just in time to laze around in the hot summer sun. Is There A Reason” is a sonic soundscape that ushers you along with a dreamy narrator. The warm undercurrents of analog synths are the perfect backdrop for the infectiously catchy guitar lines. All around, Crosby has created a smooth, upbeat, and laid-back summertime song. Crosby started writing “Is There a Reason” all the way back in 2015 but didn’t finish it until recently. Crosby says that “It’s seven years old, but sometimes it’s best to let a song “ferment and develop and then revisit it with a new perspective later.” The new perspective brought on bouncy bass lines and an all-around upbeat vibe for an otherwise sad tune. “Is There A Reason” is one of those tracks that you’ll find yourself aimlessly humming all summer!

Triathalon - “DREAMS”

If you’re looking to indulge in some laid-back, warped, and woozy vibes then look no further than “DREAMS” by Triathalon. The New York-based trio is back with their latest single off of their upcoming album Spin due out this August. Triathlon are no strangers to bending the constraints of genre in their music. They expertly play with layering indie vocals over warbly guitars to create a psychedelic adventure for listeners. “DREAMS” comes alongside an overall dreamy music video that features the trio standing in the dry outskirts of a run-down city in perfectly pressed tuxedos. If you want to get groovy with Triathalon you can catch them on a slew of North American dates this fall,

Seiichi - “Excuses”

Seattle-based artist, Seiichi, releases new single “Excuses” – a song about being afraid of losing someone but knowing it has to happen. The track begins with acoustic strings and Seiichi’s vocals welcoming you in before introducing more instrumental elements. It’s a track that you can feel the bittersweetness of being in love but not being good enough for someone. As someone who married young, Seiichi reflects on his relationships post divorce, giving a different perspective to what these songs can mean to someone. His debut EP, Felix Culpa, will explore more of these themes and we’re excited to have more songs to add to our nightly reflecting playlists.

book NOT Brooke - “popsicle”

Book NOT Brooke writes a love letter to you with her new song, “Popsicle.” The track feels like a warm hug, with elements of indie rock and shoegaze-esque instrumental elements – the track becomes addicting reminding us of early 2000s classic indie hits with a bit more angst. Book NOT Brooke says, “With summer on the horizon, I hope this song finds the ears of those who might need a bit of laughter, who might find joy in something as small as a popsicle, or a cheerful little song.” So, this is a track that’s meant for you where you can fit it into your life anywhere.
