Modern Diet- “Post Grad”

Starting with a swift melody, “Post Grad,” is filled with vocals with power, catchy little tunes, and instruments that tie the song together effortlessly. “Post Grad” is the latest song of the Brooklyn indie-rock band, Modern Diet. The band met a corner of a street, talked about femininity and lactose intolerance, and then created their band. Ever since they’ve gone on many adventures, but can be found right now asleep on a hot air balloon basket, going wherever. “Post Grad” is a statement to the apathetic world we live in and had no warning to, the band says, “The boulder is real. Are you?”

JW Francis - “Everything”

Soft and smooth is what JW Francis makes his signature sound. “Everything” feels like a long hug you get when someone doesn’t want to let you go. It’s warm, it’s comforting, it has a feeling to it. “Everything” is that long hug in a song. The song is a classic love song about yearning, a heartfelt song to an aspect of love. JW Francis doesn’t disappoint with his music, the dedication to music and the amount of self expression he puts into his music is what's admirable and we love about him. We advise you to keep an eye on him! He’s only going to be making better things everytime.

San Cisco - “Reasons”

The indie pop duo come back with a new single, “Reasons,” which is a track off their new EP coming out March 27, “Flaws.” With the energy of February, “Reasons” is a song about reassuring in a relationship that even the darkest parts of oneself will bring healing. Whether it be you heal together, or just support each other, their message is that it’s okay to be vulnerable and feel each others pain. The key part is communicating and trusting each other to not ignore the pain but work to move forward from it. With a message like that and a catchy melody and smooth vocals, this song can mean a lot to everyone. Go give it a listen so we can all collectively wait for the EP eagerly.

The Caracals - “On & On”

60s psychedelic rock with an emotive pull, “On & On” pulls your heartstrings while taking you along for a groovy ride. Singer songwriter Johnny Cisneros’s etherial vocals tell the story of letting go and “accepting that some things in life are just out of our control.” The array of instrumentals create a full track, giving the listener something to grab onto as the track progresses.

Moontower - “Rerun”

Moontower brings us another electro bop with their latest track “Rerun”. Centering around the theme of feeling lovesick, the chorus is sure to strike a chord with every listener, “Everyone is so in love, it’s why we’re all doing nothing, but we don’t see the issue”.

The three piece was previously in the first issue of The Luna Collective and it’s been a pleasure seeing the group grow. Moontower will be playing a handful of shows this Spring so make sure to keep an eye for the rising group.

Runnner - “Heliotrope”

Layers of experimental and electronic elements makes “Heliotrope” and terrific introduction to Runnner. The track touches on the frustration of struggling to enjoy a nice day and brings an array of sounds to the table. The seven-piece group has been making a name for themselves thanks to their open and raw lyrics as well as their unique sonic feel. Complete with a beautiful though schmoody video, “Heliotrope” makes a perfect rainy day track for this winter.

Johnny Martian - “Punchbowl”

From the second Johnny Martian brings in his groovy guitar the listener transports to a dreamy and hazy place. His soft vocals mix effortlessly with the sweet melody of “Punchbowl”. Writing and producing all elements of the track himself, Johnny Martian notes “I wanted to create a dreamy romantic heartbreak party song with a lofi twist.” The balance between upbeat elements that move the track forward and more mellow sonic pieces creates that perfect dreamy romantic heartbreak party song.
