Olen - “Got a Name”

LA indie-pop artist Olen’s debut single “Got a Name” comes years after the start of his music career. The single is about the ongoing uncovering of oneself, the constant introduction to new details and characteristics. Olen lets listeners know that he’s “still trying to figure out” who he is. In the music video, directed by Grizz Lee, he performs the song in front of large lights that spell out his name. The song is charming and inviting; it ends with Olen introducing himself. While Olen might not have “peaked yet” on this adventure of self-search, one thing we know for sure is that he’s got a name, and it’s Olen.

Conflict at Serenity Pools - “mellow and shiny”

If you’re in search of music to hold you down while you stay in this winter, Conflict at Serenity Pools’ new single, “mellow and shiny,” should be a solid addition to your rotation. Aptly named, the song maintains a mellow groove accentuated by glistening guitar and synth lines. Its chilled out, sweet nature makes for an enjoyable listen, especially if you resonate with the subtle, romantic lyricism detailing a night of cheap wine, sparkling water, pizza and a movie with your partner.

Matt Moody - “Awaiting”

Cleveland-raised and Los Angeles-living Matt Moody’s music explores the intersection of rock, folk, and pop through a distinctly dreamy lens. New single “Awaiting” showcase’s Moody’s strength as a singer-songwriter in droves, offering up honest lyricism in a hazy sheen over a steadfast acoustic thrum. The resulting product is both comfortingly familiar and entirely brand new, granting listeners across genres and generations a foothold in the lush sonic landscape Matt Moody is pioneering. His debut album Still a Kid in a Painted Sky released this past June, and with such a strong sense of self running through his early-career releases, we cannot wait to see what Moody does next.
