Christian Blue - “Money Talks”

Christian Blue returns with his second single “Money Talks”, a track filled an irresistible edge and energy. The hyper-dance track follows his debut single “Leave It Unlocked”, creating a strong foundation highlighting the fullness of his sound. Filled with instrumentals and fun production elements, “Money Talks” showcases Blue’s witty wordplay and his ability to effortlessly flow through endless bars. Collaborating with artists like JAWNY and Tinashe, Christian Blue is now creating his own soundscape, unique to him thanks to his varying experience and ability to tap into a plethora of sounds. We’ve been watching Christian Blue since the beginning and we’re confident his journey will only continue to go up from here.

Neil Frances x Raffealla  - “On The Lookout”

Neil Frances never fails to bring songs that linger in your mind for days. The LA based duo including Jordan Feller and Marc Gilfry, join Raffaella, a NY native with a voice so smooth and heavenly. “On The Lookout” uses synthy beats mixed with some very 80s inspired sounds that make Raffaella’s voice stand out. Whether it be as a vocal melody that blends into the background of the song or as she sings the chorus that will be stuck in your head for days, Raffaella’s voice is beautiful. The song talks about the darkness that comes from celebrity obsession and social media rudeness. And although thats what the song touches on, it does it in a way that sticks beautifully.

Ocean Heights - “Randy”

Ocean Heights captures the feeling of rejection, the realization of it in a swift and groovy song, “Randy.” With significant little grooves and notes that hit the spot in your heart but make you want to dance all over your room, the melody distracts you from the reality behind the song. The hollowness that comes from rejection and that dreadful period after realizing you don’t have a chance with someone where you’re trying to figure out what to do next. “Randy” sounds hopeful but also cautious, a song to dance your feelings away to.

Leyya - “The Paper”

Australian duo Leyya showcases their more raw and stripped back sound with their latest release “The Paper”. Inspired by the acoustic guitar the track was built on, the minimalist track emulates a sweet, endearing feel for the listener. “The Paper” serves as a preview of the band’s upcoming project, set to release in early 2021. Leyya notes, “Musicians often feel the need to ‘sell’ themselves or create something just to fit in and fulfill someone's expectations. With ‘The Paper’ we went back to the origins of just writing and playing a song, not making a big production out of it, reducing all of it to the minimum, so to speak. We see this piece as a form of therapy to re-ensure ourselves why we do all of this – and it’s not the money.”

You’ll find the track slipping into your head throughout the day, providing a sweet soundtrack for the upcoming fall days.

Ūla - “Futon”

Sydney-based Ula finds the perfect balance between a fun beat and heartfelt vocals with “Futon”, a track you might recognize thanks to Tik Tok. Ula began recording covers just for fun at the beginning of quarantine, quickly finding success on Tik Tok. Tapping into the love for songwriting and music, “Futon” showcases her ability to do so much more than cover music. Though only at the beginning on her career, it’s no secret the budding star will continue to capture the ears and hearts of her growing fanbase.

City Park - “Teenage Love”

It only takes three seconds to get hooked by the instrumental groove of City Park’s “Teenage Love”. Complete with soulful thought charming vocals, the track hits all the marks. Touching on teenage love, the track is inspired by the book Normal People by Sally Rooney, that was later turned into a BBC TV series. City Park reflected on their past teenage love stories where “make-believe, nervosity and tension all play a part”. The duo weave in elements of funk, bedroom pop and more effortlessly, creating a melody and flow that you can’t help but to bop and move to. “Teenage Love” serves as a taste of what’s to come for the duo, and we can’t wait to see what they cook up next.

Love, Sophie - “Cherry Pie”

With her sweet and velvety voice Love, Sophie touches our hearts with her new single, “Cherry Pie.” Like the title, the song is full of sweet guitar notes that blend into her voice smoothly. “Cherry Pie” is like putting on rose colored glasses and looking back to something or someone with so much admiration yet naiveness. After her debut single, “Blush” earned appraisal from BIRP.FM and Little Dose of Indie, Sophie has been on everyones radar. And just like Indie Midlands said, “when [they] hear a debut single as good as this it gets [them] very excited to hear what the artist is going to do next.” And we have to wholeheartedly agree. Love, Sophie will make you feel warm and in love, so keep an ear out for her new stuff but in the meanwhile, we have “Cherry Pie.”
