KennyHoopla’s sound is a unique one. Having alternative pop elements with some rock and hip hop, his music takes you back to sounds from the early 2000s that bring a form of nostalgia. His rise is going to be no surprise as he’s already been raved about by The FADER, Pigeons & Planes, Hypebeast, and more on his debut EP, how will i rest in peace if i’m buried by a highway?//. His new version of track “lost cause,” featuring Jesse Rutherford from The Neighbourhood, is an even tempo groove that will have you swaying around and getting lost in your head. He just seems to produce the most seamlessly raw music that is refreshing to hear from young artists. “Lost cause” is not just a wonderful track to get into his music, it sets the mood for what to expect and get excited over by KennyHoopla.

honeywhip - “vacation”

A heavenly, nostalgia-inducing tune, honeywhip's newest track “vacation” leaves the listener feeling spellbound. With magical harmonies, melodious vocals and heartwarming lyrics, the song makes for a beautiful listen as you sit at home, feeling trapped.

Speaking of the track, honeywhip explains, “‘vacation’ is a song we wrote about very badly wanting to go on vacation. Lately we’ve been feeling completely insane, and the desire to escape has never been stronger. but here we are, cooped up at home, writing songs about it instead. Not only are we living in quarantine in LA, but the wildfires nearby have often made the air outside toxic, so we are literally housebound. Like all our songs, we recorded, mixed and mastered this one at home — convenient since we aren’t able to leave it!”

Formed in Tokyo and currently based in Los Angeles, honeywhip is a duo that came out of a period of culture shock and deep isolation that led to all-encompassing creative inspiration

It’s a song full of many sounds that each hold so much significance to create what the song makes you feel. They each stand out at the same time and on their own. Not to even mention, Joe P’s vocals in this are like a dream, sounding much like a person you want to run away with in the midst of chaos to just feel free. Kaattii - “Afraid of the Dark”

Only 14-years-old and Kaattii makes the most sweet sounding tunes to brighten your day. In her latest indie-rock single, “Afraid of the Dark,” she touches on the paranoia one can feel all year round, not just during spooky seasons. “Afraid of the Dark,” starts of with just a sweet acoustic feel but right when the middle of the song starts, it picks up bringing in more lively drums and backup vocals that then lead to Kaattii’s vocals picking up with everything picking up as well. The production and writing of this song is a masterpiece and if you haven’t heard of Kaattii before we recommend you do before she becomes the next big thing in indie music.
