THAVORON IGNITES THE SPARK OF ATTRACTION — on his latest single, “Body,” and its accompanying music video. After a time away from releasing music, the Seattle-based singer-songwriter and his enthralling magic of sonic conceptions are back.

Following his sophomore album, Tommy Loves You, “Body” continues to build on the honest, moving recounts of connection and queer freedom. It’s a thrilling piece that captures the undeniable electricity that one feels with another.

“My body wants what you want too / Come tell me what you want to do / I’m crazy for you,” he sings. Those longing words add fuel to the rising passion, as the lyrics perfectly sit within the pulsating electronic production.

Thavoron has the gift of encapsulating each specific emotion within his musicality. It builds and releases through a transporting array of synths, while angelic vocals emphasize the thrilling side of a developing relationship.

“I wanted to just capture queer liveliness… and I wanted to take my own spin on what that meant to me and what it feels like to me,” Thavoron explains.

The dance essence is a distinct transition from previous releases. Yet it still carries that deep, moving magic that Thavaron is known for. “Body” feels like a song you’d find yourself dancing to in the early morning hours. It draws you in, giving you space to embrace desire and find liberation in expressing sensual power.

Collaborating with director Maddie Ludgate, the two put that explosive spirit on screen with the track’s music video. Blue-hued fireworks light up the frame as their shadow runs across Thavoron’s silhouette; the singer-songwriter is held in the power and beauty of a simple embrace. But when the last minute and a half rolls in, that reclaimed assurance is unveiled in spirited choreographed moves.

Thavoron can call the shots, and “Body” is the ode to learning to do so.
